Yahoo doubles its video online bet by transmitting for free one MLB match per day

US technology company Yahoo announced that as of April 4th it will broadcast one local Major League Baseball (MLB) match per day for free in order to compete in the world of online video.

Yahoo Sports published the list of 180 games to be broadcasted under the title MLB Free Game of the Day. The transmissions will be blocked in disputed cities due to contracts on TV rights with broadcasters.

Transmissions will have commercial breaks, through which they will add additional revenue. The CEO of Yahoo, Marissa Mayer, said on a statement that 30 brands with 70 ads have filled up the available spots, although low demands have led to a drop in prices.

Yahoo also exhibits this year a selection of games of the American National Hockey League (NHL) and has done the same with a major National Football League (NFL) at the end of 2015.
