Uruguayan Pay TV services increased 1.58% its subscribers in June 2018, totalizing 735 thousand. This numbers means a 2.11% growth in comparison with June 2017, according to information published by URSEC (Regulatory Unit of Communications Services).
Even if Cable is still the main connexion technology, with 56% of the market, it was the service which recorded the most important fall in the first half 2018. On the other hand, DTH made a progress and top the second position in the market, with a share of 29%.
In Montevideo, capital city of Uruguay, main Pay TV operator is Cablevisión, with a 23% of market share and 63.635 subscribers. It is followed by DirecTV (20%), TCC (18%), Nuevo Siglo (17%), Monte Cable (15%) and Multiseñal (7%).
