Totalplay from Mexico made the first 4K UHD broadcast in that country

Telecommunications company Totalplay (Salinas Group) from Mexico, offering triple play services (IPTV, broadband and fixed telephony) by optic fiber network, performed last Saturday the first transmission in 4K Ultra High definition (UHD) in that country.

Through the signal of national Free-to-Air network TV Azteca, matrix and flagship company of Grupo Salinas, and for Smart TVs of electronics company Sony, customers of Totalplay could watch the friendly match between the local team and Paraguay, before the start of the Centennial America Cup.

Totalplay launched for this a new next-generation 4K set-top box (STB), through which subscribers could have exclusive contents with greater definition, color and sharpness, four times better than the HD.

Sony pioneered 4K technology development for over 10 years and has a complete ecosystem that includes professional and personal 4K cameras, generation and distribution of content in this quality and televisions that support this technology.
