Telecommunications company Totalplay (Salinas Group) from Mexico, offering triple play services (IPTV, broadband and fixed telephony) by optic fiber network, has officially launched its 4K UHD service in the State of Nuevo León.
The company had made the first test transmission in that technology at the end of May for the friendly football match between the local national team and Paraguay, before the start of the Copa America Centenario.
For this initiative, Totalplay launched the 4K next generation set-top box (STB) provided by Sagemcom, which allow subscribers to have access to exclusive content with greater definition, color and sharpness, four times better than high definition.
“We are thinking about evolving our products, what services can we offer. We don’t want to be a triple play operator; we want to be an entertainment center. We have developed a new platform thinking about how content is consumed, inside and outside the home”, said to the local newspaper El Financiero, Victor Estrada, Product Manager of Totalplay.
