Televisa will begin a restructuring process that will include the rebrand of “El Canal de las Estrellas”, its flagship free-to-air channel, jointly with the launch of a new image, Mexican newspapers reported.
According to the newspaper El Universal, the new brand would be “Las Estrelas” (The Stars). This modification is under supervision of Televisa’s President of Television and Content, José Bastón, with the advice of Lee Hunt, a specialist that has already worked in successful brand positioning of international channels like BBC, CBS, Discovery, Fox and Globo, among others.
Moreover, the company led by Emilio Azcárraga Jean will make changes in the news areas and will present a new newsroom for journalistic content.
According to the newspaper El Informador, Televisa will work with the University of Miami and the University of South Carolina to create a research area that will analyze audiences and their behavior the global and regional level.
