Telefónica, Vivendi partner to offer premium content for mobile customers

Telefonica has announced a partnership with French company Vivendi to offer its Latin American customers two Vivendi’s services: the music video platform WatchMusic and the short series offer and app Studio+. Telefónica announced through a press release that WatchMusic will initially launch in Brazil, through Vivo, in early October, followed by other markets in the region over the coming weeks.

 

WatchMusic offers unlimited access to a large catalogue of music videos, concerts and festivals. In addition, it has special features such audio-only listening and offline modes.

 

In turn, Studio+ is a premium mobile short series offer and app with exclusive content specifically shot for mobile viewing. According to the company, the original programme line-up will be unveiled at launch in the coming weeks.

 

However, Folha de São Paulo newspaper reported that, in Brazil, Studio+ will offer 20 series, one of them recorded in Portuguese in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo (called Crime Time: Hora de Perigo). The price of the subscription is R$ 3.99 (USD 1.2) per week or R$ 12.90 (USD 4) per month. The first bill will not be charged to encourage use of the service.
