Telefonica, through its mobile operator Vivo, launched in Brazil the SVOD app Studio+, which offers short and original series produced for mobile users. The initiative is part of an agreement signed with the French company Vivendi.
Vivo customers can purchase a weekly subscription for R$ 3.99 (USD 1.25), with one week free trial, or a monthly subscription for R$ 12.90 (USD 4), with one-month free trial.
The seasons of the series offered by the services have about 10 episodes and an average duration of 10 minutes each. Subscribers will enjoy a new series every week (with an interval of just a few months between seasons). Among the original content is the Brazilian series “Crime Time: Hora de Perigo”, filmed in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo and based on real events. Other international titles include “Urban Jungle”, “Kill Skills,” “Surf Therapy”, “Madame Hollywood” and “Brutal”.
As Telefónica already announced, after the launch in Brazil, the services will become available in other Latin American markets to its mobile clients.
Studio + official presentation took place in Brazil during the 18th edition of Futurecom 2016 in Sao Paulo with the presence of Amos Genish, president and CEO of Telefonica Brazil, and other executives of Vivendi.
