NexTV Series Colombia & Andean 2016 will gather, on November 30 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Bogota, top technology executives to discuss new trends in the TV market.
As the video demand increases, new technologies such as 4K, UHD and virtual and augmented reality appear in Latin America. However, the content offer is still incipient and the penetration of devices suitable for these technologies is still low.
The panel called “technological leaders (CTOs) and the future of new TV technologies” will analyze whether or not the migration to 4K and Ultra HD has advanced, what are the limits for the deployment of these technologies, the costs of compression methods and satellite capacity, when will 4K channels reach the local market and what are the most important devices for video consumption, among other topics.
The panel will include top executives such as Camilo Mesa García, Head of Planning and Engineering TV of Claro, the main Pay TV operator of the Colombian market; Agustín Yesid Guerra, Technical Manager of private national TV network Caracol Television and John Carlos Hurtado, Director of Technology and Systems of the regional TV network Telepacífico.
Among the technology providers will be Jossi Fresco, Regional Client Executive Latin America, Media & Entertainment from Verizon Digital Media Services and José Alcacer-Mackinlay, Sales Director for Latam of security company Conax.
