Multinational technology company Sony announced in a press release on April 4th it will launch in the US its new OTT Ultra, an online video platform for contents in Ultra High-Definition (UDH). When the service will be available in Latin America is unknown.
The new OTT will be available exclusively for Sony Ultra HD 4K TV sets equipped with Android TV (Google) operating system. Each film will have a rental price of USD 30 and will feature High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology that turns images more realistic.
Ultra was announced at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2016, held in the city of Las Vegas, and will be compatible with UltraViolet, the digital rights management (DRM) in the cloud system, which stores the virtual audiovisual libraries of 85 companies.
