Niche OTT platforms will debate about competing with Netflix and Claro Video (America Movil) during NexTV CEO Latin America 2016, the leading conference on the future of TV, OTT, online video and music, to be held November 3 & 4 in Miami.
Vertical and niche OTTs look to gain a foothold in the market with services that complement the offer of major platforms such as Netflix and Claro Video. Meanwhile, the OTT market in Latin America will continue growing. Dataxis forecasts that by 2021 there will be 30.5 million SVOD OTT accounts in Latin America (19 countries). Netflix will continue as a leader OTT service in the region. However, Dataxis believes that the American OTT is losing market share as competition grows in Latin America.
During the first day of NexTV CEO Latin America, the executive panel named “Competition and new OTT VOD strategies in Latin America” will analyze the business models of vertical and niche OTTs, the possibility of users with multiple OTT subscriptions, and the relationship between OTTs and traditional Pay TV operators, among other topics.
