Netflix will produce its first Argentine series

US OTT Netflix announced through a press release that it will begin production of Edha, its first series shot entirely in Argentina, by local director and producer Daniel Burman. This is the sixth series by the company in Latin America.

The series, which will be released globally in 2017, will feature 13 one-hour episodes and will be a thriller drama with a plot that will focus around the central character, Edha, a young fashion designer involved in a revenge story by her new boyfriend.

“Netflix’s invitation to create its first original series in Argentina is the biggest opportunity I’ve had in my career. With a strong local identity, we are creating a project that seeks to connect with a global audience. On a same platform, more than 81 million users will have the opportunity to establish an intimate connection with our story”, stated Burman.

“The worlds of fashion and music in Buenos Aires are unique, sensual and very interesting and Daniel Burman and his team are one of the most talented creators of Argentina. We are eager to present Edha and its dramatic story to all Netflix members around the world”, said on his behalf the OTT’s Original Series International VP, Erik Barmack.
