Millicom’s Latin American Pay-TV had 18% annual growth and will launch DTH in Colombia and TiVo region-wide

Telecommunications company Millicom, which owns the Tigo brand, presented its fourth quarter report of 2015. It recorded revenues of USD 388 million and a growth of 18% compared to the same period of 2014 for their Pay-TV operations in Latin America, which has three million subscribers.

Total revenues in the region were of USD 1.415 billion, with an annual organic growth of 2.8%. Services revenues in the region slowed a bit but still grew 4.4% with an EBITDA of USD 513 million. It also announced it plans on launching DTH in Colombia and TiVo’s Digital Video Recording (DVR) set-top box services region-wide.

“We have a clear operational roadmap for 2016 aimed at achieving a leadership role in fixed-mobile services. Looking ahead, highlights will include rolling out 4G in Paraguay, satellite Pay-TV launch in Colombia and the introduction of Tivo across all our Latin American countries”, expressed the CEO of Millicom, Mauricio Ramos, in his letter to investors.

Globally, the Luxembourg-based company reported total revenue throughout the 2015 of USD 6.73 billion and an organic growth of 7.4%, plus an adjusted EBITDA of USD 2.27 billion. By Q4 2015, Millicom had total revenue of USD 1.68 billion.
