Mexican operator Megacable has presented its Q316 financial results in which it reported that its next generation interactive TV service –called XView- reached 18,000 subscribers and is now available in four new cities.
XView allows users to access to an interactive programming guide, time shift television, start over, cloud DVR and VOD. The service was launched last June in Guanajuato and Queretaro, and now became available in Guadalajara, Puebla, and Zacatecas Zamora, Megacable said in its report.
The operator reported a total 3.02 million video customers, up 0.8% from Q216 and 14.5% from a year earlier. In turn, it recorded 2.11 million internet users (+ 24.3% YoY) and 1.06 million telephony customers (+24.7%).
The company’s revenue grew 18% reaching MX$ 4,220 million (227.2 million) in 3Q16. In turn, revenues per segment increased 15% video, 25% internet, 8% telephony and 19% corporate.
