Mexican pay TV operator Megacable has exceeded 3 million pay TV subscribers in Q216, the company informed in its quarterly report. During the period, Megacable added 39,000 new clients, up 1.3% when compared with Q116.
Megacable ended June with 3,007,017 video customers, up 17% (437,000 net adds) from a year earlier. This way, it maintains its position as the leading cable operator in the Mexican market, where it competes with Televisa’s pay TV services.
Megacable’s main pay TV operation delivers the content through its HFC network; the company also operates IPTV. At the end of Q216, Megacable also reported 1.97 million Internet subscribers and about 930,000 telephony subscribers.
