DTHi operates again in Brazil jointly with Internet providers

The Brazilian operator DTHi starts operating again in the Brazilian market -after its DTH suspension- jointly with Unotel, an Internet providers’ network. DTHi will render Pay-TV services to these providers, who will be in charge of selling the service, the administration of subscribers and invoicing tasks.

The satellite distribution service will be offered through the platform provided by Media Networks (Telefónica), with which the company had already announced an agreement at the beginning of this year. Its programming is negotiated by NeoTV, a Pay-TV operators’ association, according to what TeleViva site has disclosed. DTHi will be in charge of the administration of channels.

Until 2010, Unotel was a providers’ association that purchased network capacity together. Later, an company was set up with the purpose of providing its members with capacity. DTHi was forced to suspend its service by 2010 end due to a contractual conflict with its satellite provider, until then, Telesat. Media Networks platform operates through Amazonas satellite.
