Producers Grupo Mediapro and Oficina Burman have closed an agreement to develop TV series and formats for international markets. The announcement was made in Buenos Aires during the inauguration of Mediapro’s new offices in Argentina.
Created in 2014, Oficina Burman is the producer company directed by Daniel Burman, the creator and director of movie hits like “El abrazo partido”, “Derecho de familia” and “El rey del Once”, among others. The company already co-produced films like “Truman” (Cesc Gay) and “Diarios de motocicleta” (Walter Salles), and it is currently working with Globo in “Supermax”, an ambitious project with several co-producers from different countries. Moreover, the company has been selected by Netflix to produce “Edha”, the OTT’s first original production in Argentina.
In turn, Spanish Mediapro is the producer behind projects such as “Vis a Vis”, “Nit i Dia”, “Águila Roja” or “El Internado”, and it has worked with director like Woody Allen, Álex de la Iglesia and Oliver Stone. The group produces content on four continents. Is has 32 offices and a team with 4,500 professionals.
In Argentina, Grupo Mediapro has two companies that has been operating for more than 20 years in the country: Promtv and Promofilm.
