Google prepares the launch of the YouTube Connect app to offer social live video

US technology company Google is preparing the launch of the mobile app for live social video YouTube Connect, local site Venture Beat informed. The new support seeks to compete against Twitter’s Periscope and Facebook Live.

In order to deepen its dominance in the online real-time video market, the internet giant will launch in the short term this new social interaction tool that has similar features as those of its competitors.

YouTube Connect will be available for iOS and Android devices and the user can login using their Google or YouTube profiles. It will also include the possibility of initiating written conversations and a news feed where videos and updates are uploaded by followed users.

The videos will be able to be downloaded on devices to be seen when without an internet connection but at a first instance they will not be shareable on other social networks, as occurring with competing apps.
