Globosat Play from Brazil doubles its users in a year and reaches 3.5 million

 

TV Everywhere and Video On Demand (VOD) platform Globosat Play, of Pay-TV operator Globosat (Globo) from Brazil, announced that it has doubled its number of users compared to those registered in January 2015 by reaching a total of 3.5 million. During the last year, live programming visualizations (simulcast) grew 117% and VOD 60%.

 

Besides, in the first report since its launch in November 2015, the CEO of Globo, Carlos Henrique Schroder, told US magazine Variety that Globo Play, the TV Everywhere and VOD service for Free-to-air channel Globo, had reached 205.6 million video views as of January 20th, 2016.

 

Globosat Play has 14 live TV signals, most of them sportive, and programs from 16 channels on VOD, as well as ultra-high-definition (UHD-4K) content. The service, which was originally launched in 2011 as Muu, was renamed in May 2014 with its current name. Globo Play, on its behalf, is an evolution of mobile app Globo TV+.
