US multi-channel network (MCN) Fullscreen (Otter Media) announced that it will launch on April 26th its subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) Over-the-Top (OTT) service through a mobile app which will include exclusive original content.
The new platform, destined for the “millenial” public (between 13 and 30 years old), will have a monthly cost of USD 5 and will be advertisement free. The company stated it will feature new material every day since will add playlists and content from its YouTubers, in addition to movies and scripted and documentary series original and from studies such as Sony, Viacom, NBCUniversal.
Fullscreen was founded as a MCN in 2011 and currently gathers YouTube channels of creators and companies and has more than 7,000 million monthly views and more than 700 million total subscribers.
The OTT for connected devices will be available for Apple, some Android smartphones and Cromecast (Google). Otter Media is a joint venture between the Chernin Group and US telecommunications company AT&T, which will promote the platform to its more than 100 million customers.
