Facebook Live broadcasted its first soccer match and will host auditions for The X Factor UK


Social network Facebook, which ranks first in daily visits worldwide, announced that it will broadcast for the first time a soccer match live and besides it will also host auditions for talent show The X Factor in the UK through its mobile app Facebook Live. Both initiatives may be watched anywhere in the world for free.


In partnership with LaLiga, company that owns the broadcasting rights of Spanish professional soccer, Facebook Live held the live coverage of the match between women’s teams Athletic and Atletico Feminas on May 28th. LaLiga has previously held encounters transmitted via the Video On Demand free platform YouTube (Google) with access limited to selected countries.


Besides, the British reality show The X Factor called those interested in participating in the auditions for the next season of the show to upload their videos using this Facebook app, specializing in online video streaming in real time.
