Digicel Play reaches 100 thousand subscribers in three markets in the Caribbean after a year of launching

Digicel Play, a Triple Play Service offer through FTTH, has reach 100 thousand subscribers in Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago, only a year after the service was first launched in Jamaica.

“This is a very important milestone for us and we are thankful to our customers and business partners for helping us achieve it,” said John Suranyi, Group CEO for Digicel Play, Caribbean and Central America. “The feedback we have been getting has been very encouraging and our team is working hard to fulfil the growing demand from other customers who also want to enjoy the world standard service that we provide.”

Recently the company has reached speeds of 100Gbps in a test done in Barbados with its FTTH network. Digicel has also launched the video streaming app Play Go, which includes sports channels and popular TV shows.

Digicel Play offers broadband connectivity, IPTV and VoIP through a FTTH network. The fiber deployment was done by Huawei.
