Telecommunications company Claro (America Movil) in Colombia incorporated to its Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) platform Claro Video 10 live channels among which it will have full coverage of the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games. This is the first time the firm adopts this strategy in Latin America.
Claro Video is available for its mobile customers through the app for Android and iOS and Smart TV devices. Pay-TV customers of Cable and DTH operator Claro TV, including triple and double play home packages, have this service for no extra charge.
Among the 10 new channels are three sports oriented (Win Sports and two versions of Claro Sports that will cover the Olympic joust), four music focused (Radiola TV, C Concert and two Claro Music), two with miscellaneous contents (Dia TV and Canal Claro) and one for movies (Cinema Dynamite).
Claro Video in Colombia reached more than 1.2 million views per month in 2015 and grew 350% in users. The Pay-Per-View (PPV) choice increased sevenfold and reached an average of 10,000 per month in the first quarter of 2016.
In view of this revolution within platforms, contents and TV audiences, NexTV Series South America 2016 will unite in a single conference officers from Pay-TV, cinema, Free-to-Air TV and OTT companies as well as representatives of YouTube multichannel networks (MCN), to open the debate on new business models and the relationships between technology and service providers, value aggregators and content distributors.
On June 15th and 16th at the Buenos Aires Plaza Hotel, the leading conference in Latin America on TV Everywhere and OTT new strategies, organized by international consulting company Dataxis will be held. For contact or registration enter http://southamerica.nextvsummit.com/
