The soap opera of TV Globo, “Avenida Brasil” (Brazil Avenue), became the most licensed abroad of the Brazilian broadcaster. In only six months broadcasting right were sold to 106 countries. It surpassed ‘El Color del Pecado’ (The Color of Sin) that carried the record with 100 countries.
“Avenida Brasil” was dubbed to 14 languages such as Spanish, French, Russian, Greek and Polish. It currently is on air in Uruguay, Panama, Ecuador, Croatia and Greece. In Venezuela it has become the prime time leader of Venevisión Plus and in Portugal it also leads the audience in the time it is broadcasted.
“Avenida Brasil” tells the story of young Nina who fights to recover the life that her stepmother Carminha stole from here when she was still a child. According to information from Ibope Media Brasil, the soap opera had a participation of 69% and 42 audience points in that country. In the finale it registered more than 50 million viewers, the biggest TV audience in Brazil of 2012.
