The Argentine newspaper La Nacion presented its pay TV channel LN+, which will offer news and current affairs programs, among others. LN+ will launch in November in Cablevision and DirecTV, the two largest pay TV operators in the country. The content will also be available on demand.
“Today we take an important step in our evolution as a communication company by launching our first pay TV channel to expand the reach of our journalism and quality content”, said Guillermo Rivaben, CEO of La Nacion, during the official presentation of the channel.
On its website, La Nacion reports that LN+ was born with a digital vision, and will go the opposite way that other TV channels: It will not be a pay TV channel having an app, but a massive web that will have a TV signal.
The channel will broadcast from the offices of the newspaper and most programs will be live. The programming will also be available on demand and simultaneously on the website of the Nation, which is among the most visited 10 of the country.
The launch of the TV channel represents a new step in the video strategy initiated by the newspaper last year with the program “Conversaciones” (Conversations) and continued in 2016 with its first daily newscast, “La Nacion PM”, both created for the website.
