The Government of Argentina has awarded –by decree- two DTT licenses to the founders of the publishing house Perfil, Alberto and Jorge Fontevecchia, to operate channels 36.2 and 27.2.
By Decrees 1107/2016 and 1108/2016 the Government awarded a license for “installation, operation and exploitation of a digital broadcast television service” to Perfil TV S.A. (Alberto Fontevecchia) and a second license to Jorge Fontevecchia, CEO of Editorial Perfil, respectively. Both licenses are for the City of Buenos Aires.
Moreover, the decrees issued by former Government through which it rejected Perfil’s proposal to launch channels Perfil TV and Caras Tevé were also revoked. Perfil had tried unsuccessfully to obtain DTT licenses under President Cristina Kirchner administration. Now the company has green light to offer those channels.
The awarded licenses cover a period of 10 years from the beginning of transmissions. Editorial Perfil is an Argentine publishing house that produces several thematic magazines, including Noticias, Caras, Hombre, Mía and Semanario. It also publishes the newspaper called Perfil.
